Frequently asked questions
How old do I have to be to be a Divemaster?
You must be 18 years old to start your Divemaster training. If you can’t wait, ask us about the Junior Divemaster qualification.
Do I need a medical for my Divemaster course?
Yes. You must have a medical signed by a doctor before any in-water training. The easiest way to sort this is to contact the DDRC for a phone medical. Our medical requirements explain how.
Do I need to be fit?
As a dive professional it is important to keep physically fit, but you don’t have to be an olympian. If you can swim 400 m you should be fine for the Divemaster course.
